Jamaican musician Shaggy has been confirmed as a surprise performer at Queen Elizabeth’s 92nd birthday party. (Anyone with a vision of the Queen singing and bopping along to It Wasn’t Me?’)

The news was revealed by the Royal Family’s official Twitter page, and he will be joined by the likes of Sting, Tom Jones, and Kylie Minogue. ‘The BBC is to broadcast a special concert in celebration of The Queen’s 92nd birthday on Saturday 21 April @RoyalAlbertHall. The concert will be attended by The Queen and many members of the Royal Family. ‘The Queen’s Birthday Party will feature performances from a host of musical stars from across the world and around the Commonwealth including @RealSirTomJones @kylieminogue @CraigDavid @DiRealShaggy @OfficialSting @therealmambazo @AnneMarie & @ShawnMendes.’ The celebration in April is unusual as the Queen normally waits until Trooping the Colour celebrations in June to celebrate her birthday but the family confirmed the concert will take place in April to follow the leaders of the Commonwealth Nations meeting in London. They added: ‘The concert comes at the end of a week when leaders from around the Commonwealth will be gathered in London for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting – @Commonwealth18 #CHOGM2018.’
