Cardi B Makes History as Bodak Yellow Moves to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Cardi B has officially made history

For those that don’t know, Cardi B has Dominican as well as Trinidadian roots. Her father is Dominican, and her mother is from Trinidad. Which means our lovely superstar who has been keeping it about as real as it gets, and that has just taken off in a much bigger way than anyone could have possibly imagined, is caribbean! And because she’s caribbean, we need to celebrate her incredible accomplishment. Hell, Cardi is so big right now, she might have been posted on here even if she wasn’t! Because why not?

So, let’s just cut to the chase. What Cardi has accomplished here is nothing short of extraordinary. She has officially made history in a way very few thought she ever could. Her story is a long and well documented one, but it’s really amazing what this girl has been through, and where she has come from. We will dig deeper into it at some point for sure, but right now we are just too excited and want to share this amazing news.  Cardi’s runaway success song ‘Bodak Yellow’ has skyrocketed to the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 list. The incredible feat that she has accomplished hasn’t been done by any other female rapper since it was done by another beautiful Caribbean Queen, Lauryn Hill, back in 1998! She became just the second female rapper to top the Hot 100 without any other significant billed artists. This is a true solo accomplishment that is only made all the more significant by the fact that there are only 2 females in history who can make such a claim as this, and they’re both representing the Caribbean! So we at Miss Caribbean Pageant USA would like to say how very proud we are of you Cardi. Queen enjoy the throne.

The song that did it

“Look, I don’t dance now
I make money moves
Say I don’t gotta dance
I make money move
If I see you and I don’t speak
That means I don’t fuck with you.”
